Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo is currently visiting South America’s biggest economy, Brazil as renews aggressive moves to actualised Nigeria’s connection to South America.
In a post on his official X page, @fkeyamo, the minister said his visit to Brazil was “in strict compliance with the directive” of President Bola Tinubu “to open up the South American air route directly to Nigeria.”
“I arrived Brazil late yesterday together with the DG, NCAA and some local operators and held meetings today with Aircraft Manufacturer and lessor, EMBRAER, at its headquarters located in São José dos Campos, State of São Paulo, Brazil,” Keyamo tweeted on Tuesday.

The Aviation Minister said he discussed extensively on how they can support our aviation ecosystem with their network of financiers and lessors.
“Discussions continue tomorrow in Brasilia with my counterpart, the Brazilian Minister of Ports and Airports, on how to tweak our existing BASA to immediately open the direct air route,” Keyamo hinted.
