SIFAX boss hails Adeniyi’s WCO council election

Dr. Taiwo Afolabi, Chairman of SIFAX Group, has commended the historic election of the Comptroller-General of the Nigeria Customs Service, Bashir Adewale Adeniyi as Chairperson of the World Customs Organization (WCO) Council, describing it as a catalyst for transformative leadership in global trade.

“As stakeholders in the maritime and logistics ecosystem, we look forward to the transformative leadership you will provide in this prestigious role,” Afolabi stated in a congratulatory letter personally signed and issued on Monday.

He hailed the appointment as a “well-deserved recognition” and a landmark achievement for both Nigeria and the African continent. Afolabi praised Adeniyi’s leadership and commitment to reform, noting that his elevation marks a new era for customs modernization and international trade collaboration.

Reaffirming SIFAX Group’s commitment, Afolabi pledged the company’s continued support as Adeniyi steers the WCO Council toward enhanced global trade facilitation.

Adeniyi is the first Nigerian to head the WCO Council, a move widely seen as a vote of confidence in his integrity, vision, and track record of service.
