President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has arrived at the Kotoka International Airport, Accra, Ghana, on Monday to attend the inauguration of President-elect John Dramani Mahama tomorrow (Tuesday).
He was received by Julius Debra, Chief of Staff to the Ghanaian President, at the airport on Monday
Ten heads of state and other dignitaries are billed to attend the swearing-in ceremony of Ghana’s President-elect, John Dramani Mahama, at Black Star Square.

The inauguration will mark a significant milestone in Ghana’s democratic journey.
Felix Kwakye Ofosu, spokesperson for the Mahama Transition Team, has confirmed the presence of ten heads of state, alongside two vice presidents, one speaker of parliament, and representatives from global bodies like the Commonwealth and the African Development Bank (AfDB).
Nigerian President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Kenyan President, William Ruto are among the high-profile attendees.
Delegations from the European Union, the United States, and the United Kingdom have also confirmed their participation.
The Black Star Square is undergoing extensive preparations to ensure a dignified and secure event. Access to the parliamentary enclave, temporarily relocated to the Square for the swearing-in, will be strictly by invitation. The Ministry of National Security has imposed a ban on private drones within the vicinity during the ceremony, as part of heightened security measures.

John Mahama’s first tenure as President of Ghana began when he succeeded John Atta Mills following the latter’s death in office on 24 July 2012. Mahama previously served as Vice-President of Ghana from January 2009 to July 2012, and is the first head of state of Ghana to have been born after the country’s independence. He was elected after the December 2012 election for a full term as president.
