As part of efforts to equip graduating cadets for their seafarering career, the Alumni Association of the Maritime Academy of Nigeria (AMANO) has organized a one-day career fair at the maritime institution.
According to the AMANO spokesman, Oamien Ailemen, the event held at the academy’s campus in Oron and was led by AMANO’s Executive Committee and members, under the guidance of the association’s president, Emmanuel Maiguwa.
Industry experts Captain Garba Gajere, Engr. Ini-obong Ebong, Anne Dung, Oamien Ailemen, and Inoma Frances shared their remarkable journeys in the maritime industry with the passing-out cadets, urging them to take pride in their profession and continue their careers with confidence. “In addition to the insightful presentations, AMANO also organized an “on-the-spot” interview session aimed at providing immediate employment opportunities for some of the cadets. A CV clinic was held to better equip them with the skills needed to navigate the job market successfully and prepare for the next chapter in their careers,” Ailemen said in a statement.
He said the event also saw the active participation of members from the Akwa Ibom Chapter of AMANO, further enriching the gathering with their invaluable contributions.
“The career fair was an excellent opportunity for the graduating cadets to network with industry leaders and gain practical insights that will guide them in their professional pursuits,” he added.
