MARAN holds Q3 breakfast meeting on trade facilitation

Foremost maritime journalists body, the Maritime Reporters Association of Nigeria, (MARAN), is set to hold its third quarter breakfast meeting initiated to boost ease of doing business at the country’s ports and borders.

In a statement by the association’s president, Mr Godfrey Bivbere, MARAN invited all maritime and shipping stakeholders to the July edition of its breakfast meeting.

The breakfast meeting themed, “Trade Facilitation and President Tinubu’s Economic Agenda: Matters Arising,” is scheduled to hold July 24, 2024 at Rockview Hotel, Apapa Lagos.

Bibvere, said the theme became germane in view of recent trade policies introduced by the President Bola  Tinubu administration as it battles to tame inflation and ensure food security in Nigeria.

“It is also intended to educate the public on contributions of trade to the development of the nation’s economy,” Bivbere stated.

The Breakfast meeting is expected to be attended by Comptroller General of Nigeria Customs Service, Adewale Adeniyi, other chief executives of government agencies and critical stakeholders in the industry to brainstorm on trade facilitation with a view to proffering solutions to the challenges .

Other dignitaries expected at the breakfast meeting include ship owners , freight forwarders , President General of Maritime workers Union of Nigeria (MWUN), Adewale Adeyanju and other stakeholders in the country’s maritime and blue economy.
