The security company helping to check oil pipeline vandalisation and crude oil theft in the Niger Delta area, Tantita Security Services Limited has reiterated its commitment to combating the economic menace and increasing oil production in the country.

The Executive Director, Operations and Technical Services, Capt Warredi Enisuoh made the assertion while presentating a paper on infrastructure protection, security and prevention of oil theft at the first Pan- Ijaw Economic Summit 2024 in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State.

He said: “With carbon capture you have a lot of trees in these areas that can absolve carbondioxide from the atmosphere . If they do not pollute the environment any further, these trees can thrive. We will be able to take stock of these trees and be able to generate more income for companies around the world. Many of them are willing to partner with regions like this in exchange for Green Development to participate in industrial development that is not going to create further carbon emission, thereby, militating against global warming. This also improves the health and wellbeing of the inhabitants of the region.”

He maintained that the insecurity challenge in oil producing area was a product of socio-economic problems, which can be alleviated when the economic wellbeing of the people is improved upon.

“You cannot remove social economic problems from security issues. We are here to also market how carbon streaming, carbon credit and carbon capture can generate a lot of money for the communities so that the communities can take their taste bud off the crude oil pipelines which is more or less damaging the environment and leading to a reduction in their lifespan,” Enisuoh said.

The Tantita chief assured that the company would continue to tackle the scourge of illegal bunkering through a comprehensive and inclusive strategy aimed at not only halting the illegal activities of crude oil theft but also educating and engaging those involved in the nefarious activities.

Also speaking at the event, the Chairman of RGP Microfinance Bank, Sunny Dressman, applauded Tantita for the wonderful works the company is doing.

“I cannot but commend the management of Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited for its good efforts at making the oil communities a better place for all,” he said.
