TRADE FACILITATION: UBA, others signs $6bn agreement with AfCFTA

For a smoother and a more seamless trade in the subregion, UBA and other African banks signed an agreement with the African Continental Free Trade Agreement (AfCFTA) to eliminate trade barriers.

On Monday June 19, 2023 in Accra Ghana, UBA signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with a portfolio of $6 billion, targeting Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME).

According to UBA, the sectors to benefit from the unprecedented all-round support and trade facilitation are: Pharmaceuticals, Automobile, Transport and logistics, Agriculture and agro-processing.
